Offer Description
Applications are invited for one postdoc position in cognitive psychology or cognitive development (80%, up to 3 years), with flexible start date between October 2025 and February 2026.
The successful applicant will study working memory in young adults and/or children, as well as assist Prof. Dr. Evie Vergauwe in tasks related to teaching, lab management, and research.

Desired profile:
- PhD in psychology or a related discipline (applicants with PhD defense planned in Autumn 2025 can also apply)
- Extensive experience with experimental psychology research in humans (young adults and/or children)
- Background in cognitive psychology and/or cognitive development, preferentially in the field of attention and memory
- Excellent research methods knowledge and skills
- Solid programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python)
- Demonstrated scientific expertise, with publications in peer-reviewed journals or platforms
- Very good command of English (written and oral)
- Fluency in French is required. Candidates with only basic knowledge of French must be willing to achieve fluency within a few months of starting the position.
- Willingness to travel (for conferences and/or international collaborations)
- Team spirit, and strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Willingness to contribute to lab management
- Interest in teaching and supervision of students
- Experience in supervising research assistants and/or master students is desirable
- Teaching experience will be considered an advantage
- Experience with open and reproducible research will be considered an advantage
