The

Institute of Epidemiology

(EPI) is examining the protective and harmful effects of the environment, genes and lifestyle on human health and disease using population-based epidemiologic approaches. We are seeking a Research Scientist (f/m/x) in cardiometabolic disease epidemiology.

Your tasks

  • Analyze data using R or SAS and contribute to the interpretation of results
  • Write scientific reports and papers in the field of cardiometabolic disease epidemiology
  • Participate in the drafting of proposals for grants
  • Support the design and planning of future studies
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research projects

Your profile

  • PhD Degree in a relevant field such as Epidemiology, (Bio)Statistics or Bioinformatics
  • Strong analytical skills, including familiarity with statistical software such as R and SAS
  • Hands-on experience in analysis of large epidemiological datasets preferably including omics data
  • Understanding of biological process and metabolic physiology
  • Very good command of English

Desirable qualification

  • Knowledge of German will be an asset

If you fulfil all the requirements, you may be eligible for a salary grade of up to E 13. Social benefits are based on the Collective Wage Agreement for Public-Sector Employees (TVöD). The position has an (initial) fixed term of 2 years but may be extended under certain circumstances.
