A position as Postdoctoral scientist in Plant Molecular Biology is available at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, Denmark.<br /><br />The position is for a two-year period starting from April 1st 2021.<br /><br /><strong>Job description/research project/research area</strong><br />The position is anchored in the Collaborative Crop Resilience Programme: InRoot project that aims to understand how root microbiota of healthy plants is established.<br /><br />In this consortium a detailed molecular understanding of bacterial components contributing to association and colonisation of plant roots are essential.<br />The Postdoctoral candidate is expected to take responsibility for the ongoing investigations of microbial genetic components required for association and infection of plants using molecular biology approaches.<br />Training and experience with microbial mutagenesis techniques at single isolate and population level, and a strong background in plant-microbe interactions is expected.<br /><br /><strong>Your profile:</strong><br />Applicants must have a relevant Ph.D. and additional experience from postdoctoral employment is an advantage.<br /><br /><strong>Who we are/ The department</strong><br />The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University and comprises research within the areas of Gene Expression, Molecular Medicine, Structural Biology, Systems Biology and Plant Molecular Biology. There are currently 75 full time scientific staff and<br />120 PhD students. The department is responsible for two educations: Molecular<br /><br />Biology and Molecular Medicine with a yearly uptake of 160 students in total. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation.
